The following advanced functions are explained below:

This document will guide you on how to use the functions on our MDM platform.

1. Audit

The "Audit" function allows users to track actions taken by all users within the MDM system. This provides comprehensive oversight and accountability for system activities.

Filter Options:

  • User names: View actions performed by specific users
  • Actions: Filter by the type of action performed (e.g., device enrollment, policy changes, app deployments)
  • Date: Narrow results to specific time periods


2. Export Devices

This function allows you to export the device table to Excel or CSV format for reporting and analysis purposes.

Export Steps:

1. Select whether to filter by group or by configuration

2. Select the groups you want to export (not selecting any will export all devices)

3. Select the configurations you want to export (not selecting any will export all devices)

4. Select the columns that will be included in the export


3. Detailed Information

This function provides comprehensive information about a specific device, including hardware details, network settings, and current status.

How to Access:

Enter the device number and click the search button to view detailed device information.

Available Device Information:

Field Description
Time The timestamp when the device report was generated
Device number The name or identifier assigned to the device in the MDM system
Description Additional notes or description about the device (if provided)
Groups The group(s) this device belongs to within the MDM system
IMEI (required) The first International Mobile Equipment Identity number, required for device identification
IMEI The primary IMEI, a unique identifier for the device's cellular modem
Phone (required) The main phone number associated with the device (if applicable)
Phone The actual phone number assigned to the SIM card
ICCID Integrated Circuit Card Identifier – a unique number assigned to the SIM card
2nd SIM IMEI The IMEI for the second SIM slot (if dual-SIM device)
Serial number The hardware serial number of the device
CPU architecture The processor type/architecture of the device


Permissions & Configuration:

Field Description
Permission to install as device administrator Whether the device has admin privileges for MDM control
Permission to overlay on top of other windows Whether apps can display overlays above other apps
Permission to access the usage history Whether usage history access is granted
Permission to access the accessibility services Whether the device has granted accessibility service access
Model The commercial model name of the device
OS version The Android operating system version running on the device
Battery charge The current battery level as a percentage
MDM mode Whether the device is under Mobile Device Management control
Kiosk mode Whether the device is locked into a single-app or restricted mode
Launcher variant The version/type of launcher applied to the device
Default launcher The package name of the launcher set as default


Device Status & Connectivity:

Field Description
Battery charge Current battery level of the device (percentage)
Charging type Indicates whether the device is charging via USB, AC adapter, wireless, etc.
IP Address Used The public IP address currently assigned to the device
Device protection is enabled Whether built-in Android device protection (e.g., screen lock, Find My Device) is active
Ring volume Current ringtone volume level (scale depends on device)
Wi-Fi enabled Whether Wi-Fi is turned on
Mobile data enabled Whether cellular/mobile data is enabled
GPS enabled Whether location services (GPS) are turned on
Bluetooth is on Whether Bluetooth is enabled
USB storage is on Whether USB storage access is enabled
Total memory (MB) Total available RAM of the device in megabytes
Free memory (MB) Currently free/unused RAM in megabytes


Wi-Fi Settings:

Field Description
Wi-Fi signal strength Strength of the connected Wi-Fi network signal (measured in dBm)
SSID The name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network the device is connected to
Network protection is enabled The type of encryption/security protocol used (e.g., WPA, WPA2, RSN)
Connection status Whether the Wi-Fi connection is active/established
IP address of the Wi-Fi connection The local/private IP address assigned to the device on the Wi-Fi network
Bytes transferred Amount of data sent from the device over the Wi-Fi network
Bytes received Amount of data downloaded to the device over the Wi-Fi network


GPS Options:

Field Description
Satellite communication status Current GPS signal reception status
Latitude The latitude coordinate of the device's location
Longitude The longitude coordinate of the device's location
Height The altitude of the device in meters above sea level
Speed (km/h) The current speed of the device based on GPS
Direction The direction/heading of movement in degrees (0 = North)


SIM Card Settings #1:

Field Description
Cellular signal strength Strength of the mobile network signal for SIM 1 (usually measured in bars or dBm)
Name of mobile operator The carrier/network provider for SIM 1
Data transfer enabled Whether mobile data is enabled for SIM 1
SIM card status The operational status of SIM 1 (e.g., Ready, Not inserted)
Bytes transferred Amount of data uploaded via SIM 1
Bytes received Amount of data downloaded via SIM 1


SIM Card Settings #2:

Field Description
Cellular signal strength Strength of the mobile network signal for SIM 2
Data transfer enabled Whether mobile data is enabled for SIM 2
Bytes transferred Amount of data uploaded via SIM 2
Bytes received Amount of data downloaded via SIM 2


4. Devices on the Map

Track and visualize device locations on an interactive map interface, with historical tracking capabilities.

Steps to Access:

1. Click on the Functions tab and select the "Devices on the map" option

2. On the left side, select the devices you want to view the location of

3. Search for a specific device or group of devices using the search function

4. Click on a location marker for additional information about that device

5. Click on "Location history" to view the device's location history

6. Set the time period you wish to view

7. Show markers: Display all location markers on the map

8. Show path: Draw the path between location markers to visualize device movement

9. Show time labels: Display the time and date for each location marker

5. Logs

The Logs function records debug, error, and information messages from devices and applications for troubleshooting and monitoring purposes.

Filter Options:

  • Device: Filter logs by specific device
  • Application: View logs from specific applications
  • Message: Search for specific message content
  • Type (Severity): Filter by log level (e.g., INFO, DEBUG, ERROR, WARNING)
  • Date: View logs from specific time periods

Note: For logs to work properly, logging must be configured in the Settings tab. Refer to the Settings documentation for setup instructions.


6. Device Lock, Reboot, and Factory Reset

Perform critical device management actions remotely to secure, restart, or completely wipe devices as needed.

Steps:

1. Search for the target device using the device number or name:

2. Select the desired action from the following options:

Available Actions:

    • Reset Password: Changes the device password to a new value specified by the administrator
    • Reboot: Restarts the device remotely (useful for applying updates or resolving issues)
    • Lock: Locks the device immediately, preventing unauthorized access until unlocked by an administrator
    • Factory Reset: Completely wipes the device and restores it to factory settings (removes all data and settings)

Warning: Factory reset is irreversible and will erase all data on the device. Ensure you have backups before proceeding.


7. Messaging

Send messages directly to managed devices for notifications, instructions, or alerts.

 

Filter Messages By:

  • Device number: View messages sent to specific devices
  • Message status: Filter by delivery status (sent, delivered, read, failed)
  • Date: View messages from specific time periods

Sending a New Message:

1. Click the "New message" button

2. Select who you want to send the message to

3. Enter the device number/name you want to send a message to (for individual devices)

4. Select the group you want to send messages to (for group messaging)

5. Select the configuration you want to send the message to (for configuration-based targeting)

6. Select "All devices" to broadcast a message to all managed devices

7. Enter the message content you want to send

8. Click Send to deliver the message


8. Remote Control

Take control of a managed device remotely to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, or configure settings.

Steps to Start Remote Control Session:

  1. Enter the device number/name in the search field
  2. Click the "Control" button
  3. On the target device, open the MDM Company app and follow the in-app instructions
  4. Once the app is ready, click the "Start session" button in the web interface
  5. You will now have remote control of the device screen and can interact with it as if you were physically holding it

Security Note: Remote control sessions are encrypted and require user consent on the device. All remote control activities are logged in the audit trail.

9. Photos

Access and review photos captured by managed devices (useful for field documentation, compliance verification, or incident reporting).

Search Options:

  • Device: View photos from specific devices
  • Date: Filter photos by capture date
  • Address: Search for photos taken at specific locations (requires location services to be enabled)


10. Push Messages

Send instant push notifications to devices for time-sensitive alerts and communications.


11. URL Filtering

Control which websites and web content can be accessed from managed devices to enforce security policies and prevent access to inappropriate or malicious sites.

Configuration Steps:

  1. Click the "Edit" button to configure URL filtering settings
  2. Toggle Active to enable or disable URL filtering
  3. Toggle Block Ads to automatically block URLs that serve advertisements
  4. Configure your Blacklist (blocked URLs) and Whitelist (allowed URLs)

Note: To create and manage Blacklists and Whitelists, refer to the Settings documentation for detailed instructions on list creation and management.

URL Filtering Settings:

  • Active: Toggle to enable or disable URL filtering globally
  • Block Ads: Automatically blocks URLs known to serve advertisements
  • Blacklist: URLs on this list are blocked from access
  • Whitelist: URLs on this list are always allowed, even if they match blacklist patterns
